At PSC, we can assess your injury or pain and provide you with soft compression supports for multiple joints, and lightweight structural bracing that markedly reduces pain and improves function.

Ossür braces have been proven to be effective in supporting the healing of ligaments, cartilage and menisci at the knee. We apply our expert musculoskeletal knowledge to ensure these braces are fitted and prescribed correctly, to maximise their effectiveness.

The OSSÜR Unloader Bracing Series

Offloading knee braces come in different designs and sizes and should always be prescribed and fitted by a trained musculoskeletal healthcare professional.

Offloading knee braces are a type of orthotic device used to redistribute weight and pressure away from a specific area of the knee joint. They are typically used to help manage conditions such as osteoarthritis and other types of knee degeneration, as well as to help prevent knee injuries. They can reduce pain and improve function of osteoarthritic knees.

These knee braces typically feature a padded or cushioned area, known as an offloading pad, that is positioned over the knee joint, which helps to redistribute weight and pressure from the affected area. The Ossür Unloader’s biomechanical design also has a hinge to correct loading through the knee and provide additional stability and support.

Offloading knee braces can be used in combination with other treatments such as physical therapy, injection therapies, medication, and weight management. They are usually worn during activities that put stress on the knee, such as walking, running or stair climbing.
