Pain & Injury Therapy

Our Service

We have a monthly Pain and Injury clinic at Probus Surgical Centre  Musculoskeletal (MSK) with Sports and Exercise Medicine Doctor, Dr Chris Ireland.

MSK is the science and practice behind the treatment of acute and ongoing pain in muscles, joints, tendons and more.

Whatever your level of activity and whether you have experienced an acute injury or are struggling with chronic problems that have built up over time, our group of MSK experts offer tailored diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of complaints from head to toe, with no lengthy waiting lists.

OUR TREATMENT OPTIONS

What is a Sports and Exercise Medicine Doctor?

You don’t need to have a sports or exercise-related injury to see us. A Sports and Exercise Medicine Doctor has specialised postgraduate training and experience in the care of MSK conditions, as well as injuries and illnesses that affect someone’s quality of life and performance.

A Sports and Exercise Medicine Doctor understands that surgery is not always viable or the best option. Surgery is not guaranteed to work and may involve complications and a slow recovery.

Our Practitioners at PSC will find alternative therapies that can avoid long-term pain or more complex and invasive trauma.

We have close ties to GPs, Radiologists, Orthopaedic Surgeons, Physiotherapists, Podiatrists, Occupational Therapists, Nutritionists and more and we accept referrals from any allied professional engaged in the diagnosis and rehabilitation of MSK injuries.

How does an MSK consultation at CMG work?

Our Doctor offer a range of treatments from diagnostics, to assessment and treatment, all under one roof. This ensures you quickly get to the bottom of what is causing your pain and find a solution that can help to reduce your symptoms.

We offer regenerative, evidence-based therapies for the treatment of painful joints and muscles.

We focus on proven, fast and efficient methods that are minimally invasive and promote rapid return-to-activity times.

As well as rapid expert opinion and diagnostics, our services include evidence-based biological interventions that may not be readily available on the NHS, including regenerative therapies. These use your body’s own “healing powers” to restore strength and tissue integrity.

We also use ultrasound imaging to guide our treatments, to ensure tissue-specific delivery and optimised pain relief. There is no “guesswork” with our interventions.

A consultation at PSC provides you with:
